Well...what a strange yet wonderful day. Mike I can't believe it's almost been a year? You are timeless I suppose. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you. What's weird is just last night I went for coffee with one of "Jon Jon's" friends (Cindy). After 4 hours of girltalk somehow the story of Chris & Lori's Wedding came up, well the reception actually! Hey, my memory is not what it used to be but I remember for whatever reason chasing you out of the reception and perhaps throwing a champagne bottle at your head! Didn't even come close!!! Memories of time spent with you make me smile. Makena still likes to put prayers and messages to you in our prayer chest. Anyyyyyway....CHRIS SHIGLEY e-mailed me at like 5:07 this morning from China! I am NEVER up at that hour. He's going to call so we can catchup. THEN...about an hour or so ago, I had been thinking how long it's been since I have talked to Terri. I swear within a few minutes she had left a voicemail on my cell phone!!!! Serendipity, and you of course keeping us all connected. I feel so blessed to be in and out of your life for hmm....17 years! So, well, that's all I got! I went to that Reunion "Badger Days" for your highschool. Funny, I felt your presence there, probably cuz my "date" ditched me! No names shall be mentioned. You know who I'm sure! All my love sweets. If you see my mom sitting and drinking that "Cowboy Coffee" listening to Freddie Fender...I'm sure she would love to have a little "heavenly coffee talk" with you.... Remember, no goodbyes. I'll see you when I see you....tell Leota that I really am going to cook one of these days!!! xoxo

I never knew Mike, and I don't know his sister, Terri. However, Terri phoned me one day on business, and what ensued was a conversation that struck my heart and soul. I go frequently through the intersection where Mike's accident happened. When I got onto this site, and saw pictures of Mike, I felt like I knew him instantly. I have a feeling that Mike was one of those people who never met a stranger. Very few people have such a special soul. I believe it was meant to be that I heard about Mike and got to speak with Terri. I feel that Mike might have liked this "poem" by John Muir: Climb the mountains and get their good tidings, Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into leaves. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. I know that Mike has peace, I wish it on the family also.

Even though we've never met, you have touched my heart because of the love your little sister has for you. She and I will never forget the brothers we loved so much and think about everyday.
